GBS 5-Step Pathway to Sourcing in China

Step 1

The first step involves building a complete profile of your sourcing requirements and, if applicable, your sourcing history in China. This will help us custom build an efficient, responsive, and cost-effective supply chain that correctly matches your requirements with the right sources. If your product is still in the development phase, our engineers and graphic designers can add value through design and mechanical engineering services.

Step 2

Next, we determine your specifications, tolerances, costs targets, and timelines. Are there specific raw materials that we need to look for? Are there testing protocols, international standards or compliance issues that need considered? Getting these details sorted right at the start will ensure no time is wasted in the sourcing stage.

Step 3

In this step, we identify and visit either a known manufacturer from our existing database or work on qualifying new suppliers. We also obtain initial quotations, samples, test results and build a preliminary manufacturing profile. Included in this profile are photos or video of the facility, registration and government permit checks, an overview of the production development process, and a preliminary social welfare, health and safety audit.

Step 4

Step 4 begins during preproduction and continues as long as production is underway. During this step, we audit, inspect and assess the pre-production and mass-production processes and check that the requirements outlined in Step 2 are in place. We also audit incoming material inspection reports, check production activities, and oversee final quality control checks

Step 5

In the final step, we can arrange to have goods shipped directly to your required destination, or we can warehouse, consolidate, assemble, or repack then in one of our warehouses. We will also handle freight forwarding documentation and customs clearance issues.
